The Chair’s academic team involved into teaching and research activities are contributing to the conception fulfillment of the Faculty’s graduate’s professional profile of Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in engineering being fully trained for the positions in production companies and being able to solve technical and technological problems as well as managerial tasks related to the development of socio-technical systems which production companies may represent.
It can be specified as economic reasoning development, macroeconomics general knowledge, including basic knowledge and skills in the following fields such as business economics, corporate finance, human resources management, project management, innovation and investment, logistics, marketing, quality management, production management, business operations management, as well as basics of entrepreneurship and law.
Students’ system approach to a company and process perception of business activities is being developed. The only ability of business processes holistic perception from the point of cross-disciplinary view offers the graduates the opportunity to take the advantage of the growth hidden in the modern process organization and business processes management.
It also explains the high demand of industrial enterprises for the graduates of the Faculty of Production Technology and Management, who can easily orientate within a wide range of interconnected disciplines. The academic staff of the Chair of Economics and Business Management is successfully educating the students of Bachelor’s and Master’s programs for managerial positions in production companies.
The Chair’s team is represented by 11 employees, including 1 professor, 2 associate professors and 8 assistants. The Chair offers courses of Engineering Technology program, Bachelor's degree in the field of production management and Master's study program in the field of production management as well. The Chair is also providing teaching certain subjects of Master’s program in the field of material studies and transportation technology, and Bachelor’s program focused on heat energy systems.
The academic staff of the Chair of Economics and Business Management providing teaching of the following subjects: GENERAL ECONOMICS, THE BASICS OF LAW, BUSINESS ECONOMICS, MARKETING, LOGISTICS, COMPUTER SCIENCE, QUALITY MANAGEMENT, MANAGEMENT, OPERATIONAL AND SYSTEM ANALYSIS, HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, CORPORATE FINANCE, FORMAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP ASPECTS, FOREIGN LANGUAGES, which is the requirement of Bachelor's degree program in the field of production management.
Realizing Bachelor's degree program in the field of material studies and transportation technology the academic staff of the Chair of Economics and Business Management provides teaching of the following subjects: GENERAL ECONOMICS, OPERATIONAL AND SYSTEM ANALYSIS, BUSINESS ECONOMICS, INTRODUCTION TO MARKETING, LOGISTICS, QUALITY MANAGEMENT, INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT, FOREIGN LANGUAGES.
In Bachelor’s program in the field of heat energy systems the Chair’s academic team is offering the following courses: GENERAL ECONOMICS, BUSINESS ECONOMICS, MANAGEMENT, HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, FOREIGN LANGUAGES.
In Master’s degree program in the field of production management the following courses are taught: DECISION MAKING, BUSINESS POLITICS, TECHNICAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE I, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT I, COMPANY’S LOGISTICS, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT II, BUSINESS LIABILITIES AND DUTIES, REENGINEERING AND INNOVATION PROCESSES, BUSINESS FOREIGN LANGUAGE, PROJECT MANAGEMENT, LABOUR PSYCHOLOGY AND HYGIENE, MANAGERIAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS, DIPLOMA PROJECT.
The academic staff of the Chair of Economics and Business Management providing teaching of the following subjects: DECISION MAKING, RAILWAY SYSTEMS, TECHNICAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE I, TRANSPORTATION LOGISTICS, TRANSPORTATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES, PROJECT MANAGEMENT, DIPLOMA PROJECT, which is the requirement of Master’s degree program in the field of material studies and transportation technology.
The academic staffs of the Chair of Economics and Business Management supervise registered Bachelor’s degree theses and diploma projects having been chosen by the students. The most attention is put on active co-operation with businesses, so that the results of students’ graduation projects can contribute to business practice and improve business efficiency.
Being involved into PhD programs the Chair provides consultations and special examinations in the field of economics and management and some of the academic staff are supervising post-graduate students.
The Chair has also prepared a life-long learning program focused on business fundamentals, especially in the area of marketing, management, logistics, quality management, economics and human resource management.
The Chair’s research activity is focused on a long-term research related to business process risks. The latest results of the research have been published and presented by the academic staff at the Conference “Business Process Risks” which has been annually organized since 2011.
